pavel874

In the city of Herzele, Flanders 🇧🇪 our citizen science campaign helped local authority to assess the impact of a street closure near school (the measure known as a school street) on traffic and air quality in the area. The result was

  • Less cars

  • More cyclists

  • Safer and healthier neighbourhood

  • More empowered citizens

The success of the Herzele school street pilot reminder to us all that citizens are the greatest asset that cities have. Engage them properly and great things will follow, including:

  • Evidence informed decisions to drive better outcomes

  • Change in behaviour toward sustainable lifestyles

  • Better health and living environment
