Students Of The Oldest School In Plovdiv Became Citizen Scientists

 Knyaz Alexander school In Plovdiv starts doing citizen science

The oldest operating school in Plovdiv 'Knyaz Alexander I' will start measuring air quality and traffic under the guidance of the local COMPAIR partner Energy Agency of Plovdiv (EAP).


A mobile laboratory fitted with the latest sensor equipment is placed in the school yeard to collect citizen science data.


EAP organised the first on-site workshop to introduce students to the measurement campaign, explaining what is being measured, why, and how. While the campaign is running, students will be using COMPAIR's digital tools to make sense of gathered data and to make informed decisions.


By the end of the school pilot, students are expected to improve their digital skills and build enough environmental awareness to be able to change their behavour toward more sustainable lifestyles.
